Volunteer to Bring Much Needed Supplies to the Bahamas
Just a quick note to let all of you know how successful the School Supply Drive and Hurricane Joaquin Relief was on Long Island, Bahamas. There are so very many cruisers to thank that if I should try, I know someone would be omitted. One big shout out does need to go to Bess & Billy on Alibi II for all of the organizing of jobs, people and transportation.
While much has been accomplished there remains much more to do, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. To that end, the drive will continue.
Clothing as well as household goods are still greatly needed.
Another excellent idea is for each of us to bring a few extra canned goods to donate to Father Wood for a Food Bank to service the island. The southern end of Long Island was not only the hardest hit by the storm but is also home to the poorest population.
There are many cruisers who have asked to be added as volunteers. We welcome you. If you know someone who would like to help, please send them a link to this article.
